The Provincial Grand Summus of Essex had the pleasure of making an Official Visit to Trinovantes Consistory, on Friday 6th February accompanied by the Provincial Tzaddikim and Active Officers, to witness the installation of Distinguished Companion Mark Sharp, (now Assistant to the Grand Tyler at Mark Masons’ Hall), as President of the Consistory.

The evening was packed with surprises and warm Masonic fellowship from start to finish. The first and most welcome surprise for the Consistory was the attendance of the Assistant Grand Summus, Right Distinguished Companion Howard Markham, who prior to the Installation presented two Preparation Certificates, much to the delight of those present.

The Installation was then carried out in fine style by Distinguished Companion John Pike, (Deputy Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler for the Order of the Secret Monitor in Essex). This was followed by a further unexpected honour when the Assistant Grand Summus delivered the Address to the President, adding even more distinction to an already memorable ceremony.

Following his installation, the new President appointed an impressive and distinguished team of officers, a true “who’s who” of Essex Freemasonry. Distinguished Companion Jeffrey Conway, (District Grand Prefect of AMD in Essex),was appointed Treasurer; Distinguished Companion Richard Bowyer, )Deputy Grand Prefect and PCW of Essex RSM) as Recorder; Distinguished Companion Paul Fell, )Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler),Registrar; Distinguished Companion Barry Hurst, (Provincial Grand Recorder for Essex OSM),ADC; and Distinguished Companion David Atterbury, Deputy Provincial Grand Summus, Director of Ceremonies.

The meeting was thoroughly enjoyed by all present and will be remembered as a most fitting and special occasion for Trinovantes Consistory. And what a way to finish the night off with a fish and chip supper!
