At an emergency meeting on Tuesday 5th August 2025, following a dispensation from the Grand Conclave, the North Essex Conclave Nº 300, which had been in abeyance for three years, was restored to the Rolls of the Grand Conclave and became a fully active Conclave again in the Province of Essex.
This was achieved after several ‘Awareness Presentations’, given by the PGSR Rt.Wy.Bro. Paul Fell in Harwich, Brightlingsea, Kirby & Clacton. From these presentations, more than a dozen new members completed membership application forms and the first batch of 8 will be inducted at a special meeting, to be held at the Kirby Masonic Hall, on Tuesday 26th August 2025.
We believe that this is the first time in Essex that a Conclave has been restored to the Rolls. We should be very thankful to the brethren who took the decision to place the Conclave into abeyance rather than surrendering the Warrant and congratulate them on their foresight.
The restoration of the Conclave would not have been possible without the existing members of the province of Essex who volunteered to take the essential Offices of the Conclave while the new members have time to learn the ropes.
A very sincere thank you to:-
Wy.Bro.’s Ben Farrelly (Supreme Ruler), Sid Philpin (Counsellor), Bob Potts (Guide), Aaron Powell (Treasurer), Colin Nash (Secretary), Jeffrey Conway (DC), Dale Rayner (Chaplain), Mike Lucas (ADC), Dave MacIntosh (Scroll Bearer), Stephen Finch (4 VD), John Stannard (Guarder) & David Bridge (Sentinel).
If you wish to attend the Induction of the first 8 new members, please contact Wy. Bro. T. Colin Nash at nashcolin5@gmail.com for the summons & booking in. (by the 21st August please).
